What “Separate Straw” Actually Means
This tumbler is often searched alongside built-in straw tumblers, but the design works differently — and the difference matters for both hygiene and flexibility.
The straw is not attached to the lid. It lives separately. When you want to use it, insert it through the dedicated straw hole in the lid. When you don’t, the straw comes out completely and the hole is sealed with a small cap — that cap tucks into a built-in groove on the side of the lid so it doesn’t float loose or get lost.
The result: the straw can be removed, washed independently, replaced when worn, or left out entirely for direct-drink use — none of which is possible with a fixed built-in straw. For buyers building a retail product, it also means the straw is a replaceable component, which extends product life and reduces returns related to straw damage.
