What is the plastic spraying process?
Plastic spraying is a surface treatment method that involves spraying plastic powder onto parts, also known as electrostatic powder coating. It has been widely used as a decorative technology for metal surface treatment since the 1980s. Compared to traditional spray painting, spray coating has many advantages, such as advanced technology, high energy efficiency, safety, reliability, and vibrant colors. Therefore, it is often used in the fields of light industry and home decoration.
Ⅰ.What is the basic principle of the plastic spraying process?
The working principle of plastic spraying process lies in charging the plastic powder through high-voltage electrostatic equipment, and spraying the paint onto the surface of the workpiece under the action of electric field, the powder will be uniformly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powder coating; and the powder coating will be leveled and cured after high-temperature baking, and the plastic particles will be melted to form a layer of dense and different effects of the final protective coating; and it will be firmly adhered to the surface of the workpiece. Plastic spraying products are mostly used for indoor use of the box, the paint film shows a flat or matte effect. Spraying powder mainly includes acrylic powder, polyester powder and so on.
One of the most commonly used plastic spraying process is electrostatic spraying, which uses corona discharge to make the powder coating adhere to the workpiece. The process is as follows: The powder coating is sent to the spray gun by the powder supply system with compressed air, and high voltage is added at the front end of the spray gun by a high-voltage electrostatic generator. Due to corona discharge, a dense charge is generated near the gun nozzle, and when the powder is sprayed out, it forms charged paint particles. Under the action of electrostatic force, the particles are attracted to the workpiece with opposite polarity. As more powder is sprayed, more charges accumulate. When a certain thickness is reached, the electrostatic repulsion effect prevents further adhesion, resulting in a certain thickness of powder coating on the entire workpiece. Then, the powder is melted, leveled, and solidified by heating, forming a hard coating on the surface of the workpiece.
Ⅱ.What is the process of plastic spraying?
1、Pre-treatment
Degreasing, derusting, phosphating, and passivating. After pretreatment, the surface of the workpiece is not only free of oil, rust, and dust, but also a uniform and rough gray phosphating film is formed on the original silver-white glossy surface, which can prevent rust and increase the adhesion of the plastic spraying.
2、Electrostatic spraying
Utilizing the principle of electrostatic adsorption, a layer of powder coating is evenly sprayed on the surface of the workpiece;
The fallen powder is recovered through the recycling system and can be reused after sieving.
3、High temperature solidification
Push the sprayed workpiece into the curing furnace, heated to a predetermined temperature (generally 185 degrees), and keep warm for a corresponding period of time (15 minutes); open the furnace and take out to cool down to get the finished product. The heating temperature and holding time vary depending on the workpiece.
4、Cooling out of the furnace
The process of cooling the result of the plastic spraying process to return it to normal temperature.
5、Decorative treatment
Make the workpiece that has been electrostatically sprayed achieve a special appearance effect, such as various wood grain, patterns, and gloss enhancement.
Ⅲ.What is the advantages of plastic spraying process?
1. Plastic spraying is an environmentally friendly coating that is solvent-free, pollution-free, and non-toxic, and conforms to modern environmental protection concepts.
2. Plastic spraying has excellent adhesion and anti-corrosion properties with long service life.
3. The plastic spraying line has high production efficiency and can significantly reduce the labor cost.
Plastic spraying technology is an important process in the bottle manufacturing industry. Plastic spraying can make the appearance of bottles become uniform, smooth and beautiful, and can also increase the wear resistance and durability of bottles.
Although the plastic spraying process has many advantages, but there are also some disadvantages. For example, the cost of bottles is relatively high, as the thickness and color of the coating have a significant impact on the cost. In addition, the quality of the plastic spraying process is related to the environment and the operation of the process. In individual cases, plastic spraying may also pose potential risks to the environment and human health, such as odors and pigments containing hazardous substances.
In summary, plastic spraying for bottles is a complex process. The use of plastic spraying technology can achieve beautiful, durable, and qualified bottle appearance effects. When choosing a plastic spraying process, factors such as its cost and quality should be thoroughly considered, and attention should be paid to protecting the environment and human health.
